Therapeutic Facilities

Counseling Session

In any private rehab clinic, there are therapeutic facilities set apart from living space, recreational areas, and kitchen facilities. The areas used for therapeutic services are set up specifically to accommodate the treatment clients will receive. Choosing a clinic with the appropriate therapeutic facilities is important for full recovery.

While we work with a number of clinics right here in Essex, it is safe to say that not all of them offer the exact same kind of therapy or therapeutic facilities. So when clients call us for help, it is important to first determine what types of treatment they might need.

For example, a chronic alcoholic will likely need to undergo medically supervised detox before his or her rehab can begin. In such a case, we would confine our search to clinics known to have the appropriate detox facilities. Most of them do, but you get the point.

If we are unable to locate an appropriate clinic for you in Essex, we will expand our search to include England. If we are still not successful, rest assured that we work with multiple clinics all across the UK. We are committed to finding a rehab clinic more than capable of meeting your needs.

Different Therapies, Different Therapeutic Facilities

As you look into the different rehab clinics available in your area, you will notice some subtle differences in terms of therapeutic facilities each one offers. That’s largely due to the differences in the types of therapies offered. Here is just a short list of some of the therapeutic facilities a rehab clinic might offer:

  • Detox Facilities – Just about every private residential rehab clinic includes detox facilities. This area is generally separate from everything else in order to allow for concentrated care. Detox facilities will include individual beds for each client as well as the equipment needed to allow for proper medical supervision.

  • Therapy Rooms – Clinics offering group support therapies will have large meeting rooms capable of accommodating all of the residents involved in a group session. The rooms might include conference tables, sofas and lounge chairs, and any other types of furniture the clinic staff deems necessary. Often times these large meeting rooms will also double as recreational space when therapy sessions are not being conducted.

  • Individual Meeting Rooms – One-on-one counselling is another important part of recovery utilised by most of the clinics we work with. In order to facilitate such counselling, clinics will include smaller meeting rooms no bigger than a typical home office. The clinic might use these areas for cognitive behavioural therapy and other similar treatments.

  • Medical Facilities – No residential rehab clinic would be complete without some sort of medical facilities. The degree to which those facilities are offered can vary. Some clinics provide a basic infirmary setting while others are more complete. In either case, your health and safety is the number one priority throughout your stay.

We hesitate to end this list of therapeutic facilities without including outdoor spaces. You see, therapy does not just take place within the four walls of an enclosed space. Outdoor spaces are often used as well. This is one of the reasons why our private rehab clinics tend to be located in rural and suburban environments with plenty of wide-open space.

The peace and tranquillity these environments offer allow for a distraction-free stay enabling recovering addicts to focus entirely on their recovery. What’s more, it is not uncommon for recovering addicts to be pleasantly surprised by the therapeutic benefits of utilising outdoor spaces.

For example, a client may be challenged with a question about his or her own circumstances and what he or she intends to do once they leave the rehab facility. And while he or she may not be able to answer that question during group therapy, a long stroll around the grounds may provide the perfect environment that allows him or her to sort out their thoughts on the matter. It’s amazing what a little peace and quiet can do for recovery.
