How much does rehab cost?

The cost of private drug and alcohol rehab is something that can scare people away who really need help. That’s understandable. However, we want to assure you that rehab may not be as expensive as you think. We cannot give you an exact figure, because costs will vary depending on the types of treatments you choose, but we can say there are enough options to make it possible for you to find a programme that fits your budget.

The least expensive of all residential clinics can start at prices as low as £500 per week. The most exclusive can be upwards of several thousand pounds per week. We work with clinics at both ends of the spectrum throughout Essex and England.

If you cannot afford long-term residential rehab, there are some free services available through the NHS. There is also the possibility of undergoing outpatient detox and rehab through a private clinic, an option that costs much less than residential treatment. These are all things we can discuss with you when you contact us.

How Much Is Rehab and What Am I Paying For?

Rather than just give you a round figure, we think it’s helpful for you to understand what you are paying for when you enrol in a residential rehab programme. A number of factors dictate the cost of a programme:

  • Room and Board – By definition, a residential rehab programme involves the addict living at the facility throughout the duration of his or her treatment. That means there are housing expenses involved. What the client pays for room and board covers the cost of acquiring and maintaining property and facilities.
  • Food – Obviously, a residential treatment programme will need to provide for the daily food requirements of each client. Our clinics do their best to provide a nutritionally balanced diet while keeping food budgets as affordable as possible.
  • Medical Staff – In order to ensure your safety and well-being, clinics employ the best professionals, including doctors, therapists, and nurses. Part of the treatment fee goes to pay these professionals for their dedicated work.
  • Support Staff – The support staff of a residential rehab clinic is vital to its operation. This staff includes everyone from maintenance workers to receptionists. They must also be paid.
  • Medication and Equipment – Detox and rehab therapies sometimes require medication and medical equipment to be successful. Medication and equipment can be expensive, to say the least.
  • Therapy Needs – Lastly, some types of rehab therapies require extra supplies or equipment. Depending on the clinic chosen, there may be added costs to pay for these types of things.

As you can see, there is a lot more to the cost of alcohol or drug rehab then just paying for the medication you might need to get through detox. The fees clients pay to enter residential rehab essentially pay for all the care they need throughout their entire stay.

Paying for Your Treatment

It is our sincere desire that no one be turned away from treatment because of a difficulty paying. Thankfully, there are a number of different options for covering the cost of your care. Most people do so through private health insurance, which might offer full or partial coverage. In the absence of health insurance, you can also pay for your care through:

  • an active credit card account
  • a personal loan
  • money in your savings account
  • donations from friends and family willing to help.

Unfortunately, private rehab clinics cannot provide their services free. That said, consider the cost of continuing to live as an addict against the cost of paying for private rehab. Even if you were to choose a moderately priced clinic, a 12-week programme would still cost less than what you will spend living as an addict for the rest of your life. You will save a lot of money in the long run by completing rehab and practicing permanent abstinence.

Our addiction recovery specialists are waiting to speak to you right now. Not only will they go through all of the available treatment options, they will also explain the costs involved and your payment choices. If there is any way we can get you into private treatment at one of our clinics in Essex, we will do so.
